SUMMARY:14er: Quandary Peak
DESCRIPTION:Quandary Peak Overnight Adventure\nGet ready for a bucket-list weekend! We are heading to the heart of the Tenmile Range to tackle Quandary Peak\, one of Colorado’s most iconic “Fourteeners.” Standing at 14\,265 feet\, it offers some of the most spectacular panoramic views in the state. \n\nThe Game Plan\n\nFriday August 7th: We will depart Parker at 6pm and check into our hotel in Keystone.  If you have not eaten dinner by this time\, please bring your food with you as well as any snacks you need for the hike.  We will get to the hotel\, check in\, and head to bed for a solid night’s sleep at altitude (approx. 9\,600′).\nSunday\, August 8th:  The Ascent: We’ll head to the trailhead for an early morning start. The goal is to reach the summit and be back below the treeline by noon to stay safe from common mountain weather patterns.\n\nThe Hike: What to Expect\nThe East Ridge Trail is the standard route. While it is considered a “beginner-friendly” 14er because it is a Class 1 hike (no technical climbing or rock scrambling required)\, don’t let the label fool you—it is a rigorous physical challenge! \n\nDistance: 6.7 miles round-trip.\nElevation Gain: ~3\,450 feet\n\nWhat is included:\n\nOvernight lodging in shared queen beds\nBreakfast before the hike – bars\, bagels\, peanut butter\nAll transportation costs (van and gas)\nDecal and photos with WAC banner to commemorate event\nSwag\nSupport and encouragement from the group (priceless!)

SUMMARY:Trail Run at the NEW Lost Canyon Ranch Open Space
DESCRIPTION:Be Among the First to Run Lost Canyon Ranch! \nHere’s your chance to experience Castle Rock’s newest trail system before it even makes it onto AllTrails! \nJoin us for a trail run through the brand-new Lost Canyon Ranch Open Space\, one of Douglas County’s most exciting new outdoor destinations. This is a rare opportunity to run terrain that\, until recently\, was hidden behind private gates and inaccessible to the public. \nLost Canyon Ranch was permanently protected through a conservation easement in 2024\, preserving one of the last large undeveloped properties near Castle Rock. Whether you run every step or mix in some hiking on the hills\, this is all about discovering a new trail\, enjoying the outdoors\, and sharing the experience with a supportive group. \nEven more exciting\, Lost Canyon Ranch is now part of more than 4\,300 acres of connected open space\, with future trail connections eventually linking directly to Castlewood Canyon State Park. \nTrail Details: \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDifficulty: Moderate \nDistance: ~6.5 miles\nNo dogs are bikes are allowed on this trail\n\nWhat to Bring: \n\nTrail running shoes\nWater or a hydration pack\nSnacks or energy fuel\nSun protection\nYour adventurous spirit!\n\nCome help us make a little Women’s Adventure Club history as we explore one of Douglas County’s newest trail systems together.
