The hike takes about 2 1/2 to 3 hours to complete and is open year-round\, offering breathtaking scenery in any season. \nThis beautiful hike begins with a gradual climb through scrub oaks on the South Rim Trail\, where you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of the rock formations from above.  As we descend\, we’ll connect to Willow Creek Trail\, a great spot to look for deer grazing\, before looping back pas the visitor center.  From there\, we’ll continue on the Fountain Valley Loop\, where you’ll get up close to the iconic rock formations. \nDetails & Reminders \n\nTrailhead: Roxborough State Park (park at the trailhead before or below the visitor center)\nTrail Conditions:  Many sections are shaded\, with packed snow and icy patches\, especially along the South Rim Trail.  Micro spikes are highly recommended for your safety.  Dress in warm layers.  UPDATE:  It may be snowing before and during the hike\, so snow shoes could be helpful.\nMeet-up & Carpool: Stroh Ranch Soccer Park in Parker\, departing at 8:15 AM sharp.  If you are interested in carpooling\, please let Denise Reynolds know via the FB post in the comments.\nPark Entry: A state park pass is required\, or pay the entrance fee upon arrival. DESCRIPTION:Experience this 5.2-mile loop trail near Golden\, Colorado. Generally considered a moderately challenging route\, it takes an average of 2 h 19 min to complete. This is a very popular area for hiking\, mountain biking\, and running\, so you’ll likely encounter other people while exploring. Dogs are welcome\, but must be on a leash. \nThis is an amazing trail that takes one to Red Rocks via the Cherry Gulch. The trail features varying topography and stunning views. The terrain has some rocky sections with steady inclines. Wildflowers galore during the spring and you can expect to see a variety of beautiful vibrant flowers. SUMMARY:Hike at Mitchell Creek Canyon via Gateway Mesa
DESCRIPTION:This trail is a great example of the ecology and geography of the Castle Rock area. It offers much of the same experience as the nearby Castlewood canyon without the crowds. The trail climbs to the western rim of the canyon which it follows for the majority of the hike. We will park at the Gateway Mesa Trailhead to connect with Mitchell Creek Canyon. Plan for about 4 miles out and back. Your trail guides are Robin Lythgoe and Vange Pena-Jenks. This is a gorgeous hike with lots of terrain changes and gorgeous views. Definitely one to make sure you visit! \n

DESCRIPTION:It’s finally paddleboarding and kayaking season! Join us for a relaxing and fun-filled morning out on the water at Chatfield Reservoir. We’ll launch from the area next to Colorado Watersports and spend our time paddling\, soaking up the sun\, and connecting with our amazing community. \nWhether you’re bringing a kayak or a stand-up paddleboard (SUP)\, please come fully prepared to set up your own gear independently. We know many of you may be new to this\, and we’re so excited you’re jumping in! However\, our trail guides are not responsible for teaching board setup\, and we won’t be spending the morning assembling equipment. Be sure to review your gear ahead of time and practice setup at home if needed. \nWhat to bring: \n\n\nYour paddleboard or kayak (or rental) \n\n\nLife jacket / PFD \n\n\nPlenty of water \n\n\nSnacks or lunch \n\n\nSun protection (hat\, sunscreen\, sunglasses with strap) \n\n\nTowel and change of clothes (optional) \n\n\nLet’s kick off summer together—on the water\, in great company\, and ready for adventure!

DESCRIPTION:Trail Run at Lair o’ the Bear Park – All Levels Welcome! \nJoin us for a refreshing and empowering morning on the trails at Lair o’ the Bear Park near Idledale\, Colorado! Whether you’re a seasoned runner or just starting to explore trail jogging\, this event is for ALL women of ALL levels. \nWe’ll be offering two group options: \n\n\nAnne’s Group will take on the full 6.4-mile loop to Panorama Point. This moderately challenging route features scenic creekside paths and rewarding views of Mt. Blue Sky. \n\n\nKaylene’s Group will take a shorter\, beginner-friendly route\, focusing on easy jogging with built-in heart rate recovery breaks—perfect if you’re newer to trail running or want a more relaxed pace. \n\n\nPace does not matter—our focus is on community\, movement\, and confidence on the trails. \nGroup size is limited based on local county rules.
