Whether you’re paddling a kayak or stand-up paddleboard (SUP)\, this is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy Colorado’s mountain scenery\, connect with fellow adventurers\, and soak up some sunshine. \nPalmer Lake offers calm waters and stunning views of the surrounding foothills\, making it a great destination for both experienced paddlers and those newer to the sport. We’ll launch together from the North Beach and explore the lake at a comfortable pace\, taking time to enjoy the scenery and each other’s company. \nThis is a social outing\, so feel free to paddle hard\, float peacefully\, or simply enjoy being out on the water with a fantastic group of women. \nWhat to Bring: \n\nKayak or stand-up paddleboard (SUP)\nPersonal flotation device (PFD) – required\nPaddle\nWater and snacks\nSunscreen\, hat\, and sunglasses\nTowel and a change of clothes (just in case!)\nDry bag for personal items (recommended)\n\nImportant Notes: \n\nPlease arrive 20 – 30 minutes early if you need time to unload and set up your equipment. DESCRIPTION:Be Among the First to Run Lost Canyon Ranch! \nHere’s your chance to experience Castle Rock’s newest trail system before it even makes it onto AllTrails! \nJoin us for a trail run through the brand-new Lost Canyon Ranch Open Space\, one of Douglas County’s most exciting new outdoor destinations. This is a rare opportunity to run terrain that\, until recently\, was hidden behind private gates and inaccessible to the public. \nLost Canyon Ranch was permanently protected through a conservation easement in 2024\, preserving one of the last large undeveloped properties near Castle Rock. The newly opened trails wind through forests\, rolling grasslands\, and dramatic canyon landscapes\, offering beautiful scenery and plenty of fresh air. \nWe’ll explore approximately 7–8 miles of the new trail system at a comfortable\, regrouping pace. SUMMARY:Hess Reservoir SUP/Kayak Adventure
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a relaxing morning on the water at Hess Reservoir\, one of Parker’s hidden gems! Whether you prefer a stand-up paddleboard (SUP) or a kayak\, this is the perfect opportunity to enjoy a peaceful paddle\, take in the scenery\, and spend time with an amazing group of adventurous women. \nSurrounded by rolling hills and open space\, Hess Reservoir offers calm waters that are ideal for both experienced paddlers and those newer to the sport. We’ll paddle at a comfortable pace\, with plenty of opportunities to chat\, enjoy the views\, and maybe even spot a few local birds or other wildlife along the shoreline. \nNOTE: Because Hess Reservoir requires an online reservation for every vehicle entering the reservoir\, WAC will reserve and pay for up to four vehicles. We’ll meet at Echo Park before the event to transfer paddleboards\, kayaks\, and participants into the reserved vehicles before heading to the reservoir. \nWhat to Bring: \n\nKayak or stand-up paddleboard (SUP)\nPersonal flotation device (PFD) – required\nPaddle\nWater and snacks\nSunscreen\, hat\, and sunglasses\nTowel and a change of clothes (just in case!)\nDry bag for personal items (recommended)\n\nImportant Notes: \n\nPlease arrive at the carpool meetup no later than 7:45 AM. We’ll use this time to transfer equipment to the registered vehicles before departing for the reservoir.\nTrail guides won’t be able to assist with equipment assembly during the event.\nParticipants should be comfortable independently setting up and launching their own gear.\nWeather and water conditions will be monitored and the event may be adjusted if necessary.\n\nWhether you’re looking for a peaceful paddle\, a little exercise\, or simply a chance to spend time outdoors with great company\, Palmer Lake is the perfect place to spend the day. This out-and-back hike follows the Section 16 and Intemann Trails to Mesa Park\, offering a rewarding mix of forested paths\, rolling terrain\, and incredible Front Range views. \nAs we climb through the foothills\, we’ll be treated to sweeping vistas overlooking Colorado Springs\, Red Rock Canyon Open Space\, and Garden of the Gods. The trail winds through beautiful pine forests and rocky hillsides\, providing plenty of opportunities to stop\, catch our breath\, and soak in the scenery. \nThis route is shared with runners and mountain bikers\, so be prepared to encounter other trail users along the way.
