Keep your eyes and ears open—you might spot elk\, marmots\, or a variety of birds\, and you may even hear the cheerful chorus of frogs near the marshy areas.\This trail offers a mix of terrain\, including rocky sections\, exposed roots\, some narrow spots\, and steady climbs that will get your heart pumping. DESCRIPTION:Discover the natural beauty of Roxborough State Park as we take on a 5.3-mile loop trail near Littleton\, Colorado! Hike or snowshoe—Mother Nature will decide! Let’s hope she delivers a winter wonderland to kick off the season! \nThis beautiful hike begins with a gradual climb through scrub oaks on the South Rim Trail\, where you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of the rock formations from above.  As we descend\, we’ll connect to Willow Creek Trail\, a great spot to look for deer grazing\, before looping back pas the visitor center.  From there\, we’ll continue on the Fountain Valley Loop\, where you’ll get up close to the iconic rock formations. \nDetails & Reminders \n\nTrailhead: Roxborough State Park (park at the trailhead before or below the visitor center)\nTrail Conditions:  Many sections are shaded\, with a chance for packed snow and icy patches. If we end up just hiking\, micro spikes are highly recommended for your safety.  Dress in warm layers.\nPark Entry: A state park pass is required\, or pay the entrance fee upon arrival.
