DESCRIPTION:Experience the beauty\, history\, and panoramic views of the Devil’s Head Lookout Trail\, a 2.8-mile out-and-back route near Buffalo Creek\, Colorado. This moderately challenging trail climbs 950 feet in elevation and finishes with a unique climb up 143 stairs to reach Colorado’s only remaining staffed fire lookout tower. This hike is short\, scenic\, and packed with adventure. Come prepared for a rewarding climb and incredible views from one of Colorado’s most iconic lookout points. \nTrail Location: Devil’s Head Lookout TrailheadHike Distance: 2.8 miles totalElevation Gain: 950 ftEstimated Hike Time: Approximately 1 hour 45 minutesDogs: Allowed on leash\, but not permitted on the stairs or at the lookout tower \nThis trail offers a great mix of shaded Aspen and Pine forest\, historical significance\, and stunning 100-mile views of the Rampart Range. Along the way\, you’ll find benches for breaks and a sign marking the halfway point. This is a very popular trail\, so we’ll plan to arrive early and begin hiking shortly after 8:00 AM to avoid heavy crowds and enjoy cooler temperatures. \nGroup Size Limit: This hike is capped at 12 participants to stay within forest service regulations. Marvel at the enormous geometric cuts in the rock face — some of the largest formations in the park. DESCRIPTION:This trail is a great example of the ecology and geography of the Castle Rock area. It offers much of the same experience as the nearby Castlewood canyon without the crowds. The trail climbs to the western rim of the canyon which it follows for the majority of the hike. We will park at the Gateway Mesa Trailhead to connect with Mitchell Creek Canyon. Plan for about 4 miles out and back. Your trail guides are Robin Lythgoe and Vange Pena-Jenks. This is a gorgeous hike with lots of terrain changes and gorgeous views. Definitely one to make sure you visit! \n

Whether you’re new to the sport or looking to build confidence in swimming\, biking\, and running\, this informational session will give you everything you need to feel prepared and excited for the journey ahead! \nJoin our triathlon coaches\, Mary Carey and Leslie Beahm\, as they break down what to expect from training\, how to prepare\, and what gear will set you up for success. They’ll cover everything from choosing the right goggles\, swimsuit\, and bike to what a typical training session looks like for swimming\, biking\, and running. You’ll also get tips on how to prepare for training and race day\, no matter your starting point\, plus a chance to ask any questions during a Q&A session. \nHold off on buying gear until after this meeting! We don’t want you spending money on things you don’t need. Our coaches will share valuable tips and tricks to help you make smart\, cost-effective choices so you can have the best experience without breaking the bank. And when it comes to biking\, any bike that is in safe\, working order is welcome—whether it’s a mountain bike\, road bike\, or hybrid\, you can train and race with what you have. \nAt WAC\, we believe every woman belongs here—no matter her experience level. You don’t need to be a strong swimmer (or even know how to swim at all!)—our experienced coaches will teach you every step of the way. This 4.2-mile loop offers stunning views and a rewarding climb that encircles Mount Galbraith\, with an optional summit elevation of just over 7\,200 feet. Challenge yourself with this steep climb and soak in the incredible views from Mount Galbraith. It’s the perfect way to enjoy nature and connect with fellow outdoor enthusiasts! \nDetails: \n\nTrail Length: 4.2-mile loop\nDifficulty: Moderate\, with some steep sections\nDuration: ~2 hours 11 minutes\nTrail Guides: Denise Reynolds & Kristen Shrove\nCarpool: For those interested in joining a carpool\, we will leave Sportsman’s Warehouse in Parker promptly at 7:10am\n\nWhat to Expect:\nThis hiker-only trail (no bikes allowed) is a favorite for its beautiful scenery and unique rock formations. Along the way\, you’ll enjoy panoramic views of Golden\, the Coors Plant\, and Denver. Keep an eye out for animal trails and interesting natural features. \nTrail Notes: \n\nThe path can be narrow in some places\, making passing tricky.\nThere’s a well-maintained gravel parking lot with easy access off Golden Gate Canyon Road.\nDogs are welcome but must be on a leash.

DESCRIPTION:Take a Stroll with Us!\nCome join us for a walk-a-thon! The Bingham Lake trail is a flat\, one mile loop in the Pinery in Parker. This week we will focus on completing as many laps as you can in one hour.  We also want to invite any stroller moms to join us this week – the trail is flat and easy to push your stroller on.  You’ll get a great view of the mountains\, local wildlife\, and discover a little hidden gem right here in Parker! The path is wide and perfect for social walking in groups. \nDetails: \n\nTrail Length: 1.0 mile\nDifficulty: Easy\nDuration: ~19 minutes per lap\nTrail Guides: Liz Konley & Robin Lythgoe\n\nWhat to Expect:\nThis picturesque trail offers stunning views of Pinery Lake and is popular for birding\, fishing\, and hiking. Despite its popularity\, it’s possible to enjoy moments of solitude during quieter times. Dogs are welcome to join the walk\, but they must be kept on a leash. \nAccessibility: \n\nParking: Accessible spaces are available in the paved lot off East Lakeshore Drive. Port-a-potty on site.\nTrail Surface: Crushed gravel\, typically 8 feet wide.\nGrade: Mostly gentle (5% or less)\, suitable for all-terrain tires or motorized equipment if needed.\n\nWhether you’re looking to unwind in nature or enjoy great company\, this easy trail is perfect for everyone. This area is home to the Pronghorn\, the second fastest animal on the planet after the cheetah. Fun fact: in long-distance races\, Pronghorns can outrun cheetahs!
