Founded in 2024, the Women’s Adventure Club (WAC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping women incorporate movement into their lives through supportive outdoor community experiences. We believe there is no single way to be active—whether it’s hiking a mountain, biking a scenic trail, paddling on the water, or simply taking a walk with friends, movement should feel good and be accessible to all.
At WAC, we provide women with opportunities to explore the outdoors through free, guided adventures—whether that’s snowshoeing, hiking, mountain biking, road biking, paddleboarding, kayaking, or trail running. Women of all paces gather weekly to get moving, soak in the fresh air, and connect with one another. We also offer structured training programs to help women achieve specific outdoor goals—whether you’re training for your first 5k, preparing to climb a 14er, or ready to take on a sprint triathlon, we’ve got you covered! And if you want to try something new, our monthly special events are a great opportunity to explore a variety of activities, such as self-defense classes, Nordic skiing, pickleball lessons, or even a Moab Retreat!
The heart of our community is the sense of belonging we create while exploring the outdoors together. At WAC, you’ll find a welcoming space where women support and encourage one another—whether we’re hiking, biking, or simply soaking in the sunshine. Our events are about enjoying movement, not speed, competition, or aesthetics. Success isn’t measured by how fast you climb a hill or how many miles you log—it’s about showing up, moving your body, and connecting with others in a way that feels right for you. Conversations flow naturally during our adventures, from lighthearted chats to sharing experiences and encouragement. We know that movement, nature, and connection all play a powerful role in mental well-being, and many of us find that these moments together help us feel lighter, stronger, and more supported. In a world that can feel disconnected, these shared experiences remind us that we’re never alone on our journey.
Our leadership team is made up entirely of passionate volunteers who believe in the power of women supporting women. Together, they have donated thousands of hours building this space into what it is today—a thriving, inclusive environment where women can grow, explore, and find strength in one another. Their dedication is a testament to what can be accomplished with teamwork, passion, creativity, and above all, a love for helping the women around us. We are an inclusive space where all women—cis, trans, and non-binary individuals who feel aligned with womanhood—are welcome. We celebrate diversity and are committed to ensuring that everyone, including those in the LGBTQ+ community, feels embraced, respected, and supported.

Take a Look at Our Community!
We offer more than just activities — we provide a welcoming community and unforgettable experiences. Many women feel nervous about joining at first, but that quickly fades once they meet our friendly members and experience the warm, supportive atmosphere. Our members know that when they attend an event, they’re joining a group of women who have their back and share their enthusiasm for adventure.
This strong sense of community is a key reason why women are drawn to our events and return again and again. Join us and see for yourself why the Women’s Adventure Club is more than just an adventure group; it’s a place where friendships are forged, confidence is built, and memories are made. How Did The Women's Adventure Club Start?

In January 2023 I was friendless and my mental health was in the gutter. I had spent the previous months in an intense five hours a day mental health program to assist me with Postpartum Psychosis, Anxiety, and PTSD Nightmares. To say I had hit rock bottom would be a gross understatement. I had been going for eight years undiagnosed, untreated, and unmedicated. I felt like I was drowning and was too afraid to ask for help; terrified that if someone knew how dark my thoughts were I’d be sent away and locked up for good.
Luckily for me, a visiting family member could tell I wasn’t myself and I needed help. She held my hand while I sobbed and dialed an emergency mental health hotline. That started a long path to recovery that has since turned my life around. While undergoing treatment and counseling, it became increasingly clear that I was missing key elements in my life. I needed friends, exercise, and sunshine. And I needed to find a way to get it for myself. I saw an ad for a team relay race that spurred a lightbulb moment in my mind. Despite not running in ages, being completely out of shape, and having no idea how to train for high elevation relay runs, I decided I was going to run it. And I was going to find friends to do it with… Read More

Help Us Change the World!
Want to help support our mission? Donate! The Women’s Adventure Club does not charge membership fees. We do this so all women have access to a supportive community, no matter her socio-economic status. Instead, we rely on the generosity of others to help the Women’s Adventure Club meet the needs of our community.
Together, we are making great strides to change our society of loneliness back to village culture – because it takes a village to raise a happy adult too. Become a donor today and help Douglas County women explore, connect, and thrive!
