Explore the beauty of Pike National Forest on this 7.9-mile loop trail near Pine, Colorado! This moderately challenging route takes about 3 hours and 35 minutes to complete and offers stunning scenery, some quiet moments, and the occasional trail companion, including hikers, mountain bikers, and horseback riders.
Trail Details:
- Trail Guides: Sara Paramenter, Kristen Shrove
- Carpool Meetup: Sportsman’s Warehouse parking lot (departure at 7:30 AM)
- Where: Pine Valley Ranch Park Trailhead (ample parking and restrooms available)
- Difficulty: Moderate
- Route Options:
- Clockwise: Enjoy a gradual incline throughout the trail.
- Counterclockwise: Tackle most of the elevation gain in the first few miles.
The trail begins by circling a picturesque pond before winding through lush forest and open spaces. Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash. Carpooling is encouraged as this hike is a longer drive. Meet us at Sportsman’s Warehouse by 7:30 AM, and we’ll head to the trailhead together.
