Hike at Spruce Mountain Trail

April 11 @ 8:00 am - 10:30 am
Free

Join us for a beautiful hike at Spruce Mountain, one of the unique limestone buttes that rise dramatically from the plains just east of the Rampart Range of the Rocky Mountains. These rocky “islands” scattered across the landscape create a stunning contrast between the foothills and the open prairie.

Located just west of I-25 and north of the charming town of Palmer Lake, Spruce Mountain offers a delightful hiking experience with sweeping views in every direction. From the trail, we’ll enjoy incredible vistas of Pikes Peak, the Rampart Range, Greenland Open Space, and the Palmer Divide.

The trail winds through forests of spruce and pine, with occasional rocky sections and scenic overlooks that make this hike both peaceful and rewarding. It’s a great opportunity to stretch your legs, enjoy fresh air, and soak in some of Colorado’s beautiful Front Range scenery.

Trail Highlights:

  • Moderate hike of 5.4 miles with 574 feet of elevation gain
  • Expansive views of Pikes Peak and the Rampart Range
  • Unique limestone butte landscape
  • Forested sections and scenic overlooks
  • Beautiful mix of foothills and plains scenery

Come experience this hidden gem along the Front Range with us!
