Meet the Team!

Kaylene Macias

President & CEO

I am a born and raised Colorado girl who thrives on a good challenge. I have a passion for creating community wherever I live and “being the change” Ghandi so wisely advised us to be. My message to women everywhere is to never underestimate your power to be a force for good in the world. Of all our WAC events, running through Waterton Canyon during a muddy, wet, freezing snowstorm remains my favorite. It was our “I can do hard things” challenge and we all walked away amazed at our accomplishment. Fun Fact: I represented Arapahoe County in the Mrs. Colorado Pageant in 2017!

Michele Blumreich

Vice President

I moved to Colorado in 2020 for the outdoor lifestyle and would make that same decision 100 times over. I love all the outdoor activities Colorado offers. While there have been so many memories created with WAC, one of my favorites was the Estes Park half marathon. We made a weekend of it touring the Stanley hotel, eating out, getting very little sleep and running our hearts out the next day. Fun fact: I have had my CrossFit L1 instructor certification for five years.

Shawna Powers

Secretary

I joined the Women’s Adventure Club on their very first event in February 2023. It is with them that I trained and competed in my first half marathon. Our team, The Pokémoms, medaled in third place! I have a passion for helping women gain confidence in themselves as they take on new challenges in the great outdoors. It is one of the most rewarding things to see a woman’s confidence in herself grow. Fun fact: Ask me about any rap song and I can sing it for you. Memorized.
Anne Sevilla

Training Director

As a founding member of WAC and a certified coach thru the United Endurance Sports Coaching Academy, Anne Sevilla is thrilled to be part of creating group training programs just for you! She is an ultra runner, with major bragging rights to finishing the Transrockies race last summer – a 6 day, 120 mile run atop the breathtaking Rocky Mountains.  Anne is a huge advocate to empower to love their own pace and celebrate their accomplishments, both on and off the training trail.

Kelly Phillips

Finance Director

As a recently retired woman, I love what this club represents and am thrilled to be able to contribute to its success. I love to go hiking, cross country skiing, snowshoeing,  road biking, and  attending Jeep Jamboree off-roading events. I rode the famous RAGBRAI cycling event ten years in a row. It’s a 500 mile, week-long bike ride across the entire state of Iowa. Fun Fact: I attended Reagan’s presidential inauguration in Washington D.C. and own a 1971 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia  lime green convertible!
