UPDATED LOCATION: Hike at NCAR Ramble Trail in Boulder

May 23 @ 8:00 am - 11:00 am
Free

Due to continued snow and road closures at the Blue Lake via the Mitchell Lake Trail we have updated this hike to NCAR Ramble Trail in Boulder.

While this route is a bit shorter than the original hike, it is an absolutely beautiful and unique loop featuring a wide variety of terrain, stunning foothill scenery, and a fun final uphill push back to the National Center for Atmospheric Research.

One of the coolest parts of this change is that we’ll also have the opportunity to explore the NCAR public visitor center afterward, which includes interactive exhibits focused on weather, climate, and the sun. It’s a really interesting and memorable spot that many people have never visited before.

Trail Details:

  • Difficulty: Moderate
  • Distance: 3.3 – 4 miles
  • Elevation Gain: ~715 feet

What to Bring:

  • Trekking poles
  • Layered clothing for weather
  • Water and snacks
  • Sun protection

Looking forward to a fun day on the trail together!
