Hike at Mitchell Creek Canyon via Gateway Mesa

This trail is a great example of the ecology and geography of the Castle Rock area. It offers much of the same experience as the nearby Castlewood canyon without the crowds. The trail climbs to the western rim of the canyon which it follows for the majority of the hike. We will park at the Gateway Mesa Trailhead to connect with Mitchell Creek Canyon. Plan for about 4 miles out and back. Your trail guides are Robin Lythgoe and Vange Pena-Jenks. This is a gorgeous hike with lots of terrain changes and gorgeous views. Definitely one to make sure you visit!
