Here’s your chance to experience Castle Rock’s newest trail system before it even makes it onto AllTrails!

Join us for a trail run through the brand-new Lost Canyon Ranch Open Space, one of Douglas County’s most exciting new outdoor destinations. This is a rare opportunity to run terrain that, until recently, was hidden behind private gates and inaccessible to the public.

Lost Canyon Ranch was permanently protected through a conservation easement in 2024, preserving one of the last large undeveloped properties near Castle Rock. The newly opened trails wind through forests, rolling grasslands, and dramatic canyon landscapes, offering beautiful scenery and plenty of fresh air.

We’ll explore approximately 7–8 miles of the new trail system at a comfortable, regrouping pace. Whether you run every step or mix in some hiking on the hills, this is all about discovering a new trail, enjoying the outdoors, and sharing the experience with a supportive group.

Even more exciting, Lost Canyon Ranch is now part of more than 4,300 acres of connected open space, with future trail connections eventually linking directly to Castlewood Canyon State Park.
