Dawson Butte is peaceful and inspiring to visitors, with an open, flowy, curvy trail that follows the natural contours of the land and takes people on adventures through forested areas and meadows. The trail is popular year-round due to the mix of shade and sun throughout the trail.
Located just east of Ponderosa High School, this local trail has miles of options to choose from! Hike it, run it, walk it; it is up to you! If we are lucky, we might even see the longhorn cattle that graze nearby!
There is plenty to explore along this trail, including kid-sized homestead log cabin, Native American teepees, with sandbars and boulders for fun water play for your kiddos!
