Prerequisites:
The Peak Pursuit: Fourteener Training Program is for women who are already active and ready to take on the challenge of progressively higher-altitude hikes. This is a level 4 Advanced Program. Unlike our other programs, this requires a greater time commitment as we increase the elevation we summit each week to prepare for your final Fourteener climb. For this course, you should:
- Be able to comfortably hike at least 7 miles on varied terrain with at least 1,000 feet of elevation gain.
- Commit to weekly training hikes that gradually increase in elevation and difficulty.
- Engage in regular cardiovascular or strength training (hiking, running, cycling, strength workouts, etc.) at least 3 days per week.
- Be free of major injuries that would prevent you from safely completing long, high-altitude hikes.
Not Quite Ready?
If you’re not sure you meet the requirements, a great way to prepare is by joining our free weekly adventure events on Saturdays and Wednesdays! These hikes and workouts will help build the endurance, strength, and confidence needed before committing to Fourteener training.
Meet Your Coaches
Denise Reynolds Dedicated coach, motivator, nature lover, and adventurer, Denise Reynolds is a Peak Pursuit coach and WAC Parker trail guide who’s passionate about helping women discover their strength. She’s summited three Colorado 14ers and brings her experience as a middle school cross country and track coach into every training season, supporting others as they build confidence and endurance. After serving as a Peak Pursuit coach-in-training last year, Denise is excited to return as a coach this season. When she’s not hiking, she loves lifting heavy weights, camping, and saying yes to new adventures whenever she gets the chance. Last year she logged 165 hiking miles and is aiming for 200 miles in 2026, believing that every mile spent training for a 14er should include laughter, amazing conversations, beautiful views, and pride after each competed challenge. She believes in creating supportive spaces where women can connect, grow stronger, and realize just how capable they truly are, one trail at a time.
