Sprint Triathlon

Train Smart. Race Strong. Conquer Your First (or Favorite) Sprint Triathlon!

At the Women’s Adventure Club, we believe in creating an inclusive, empowering environment where every woman, no matter her fitness level, is valued. Whether you’re new to triathlons or an experienced athlete, our 13-week sprint triathlon training program is designed for all. Meeting three times a week, you’ll train together as a team to conquer a 750-meter swim, 10-mile bike ride, and a 5K run. We thrive on the diversity of abilities within our group—every woman has something valuable to contribute, and that’s what makes us stronger as a team. Whether you’re just starting out or already racing, you’ll receive expert coaching, team support, and a strong sense of camaraderie that makes each workout something to look forward to. Our participants, from beginners to seasoned triathletes, keep coming back because of the friendships they build, the empowering atmosphere, and the power of working together as a team.

What We Offer:

  • Three Team Workouts each Week: Participate in weekly swim, bike, and run sessions with your fellow WAC members. These group workouts are designed to accommodate all fitness levels, from beginners to those with previous race experience.
  • Specialized Clinics: Gain valuable insights and hands-on experience in areas like transitions, race prep, open water swimming, and bike maintenance. These clinics are designed to prepare you for every aspect of the race.
  • Training Plans: Each athlete receives a plan to help improve their strength, endurance, and speed in each triathlon discipline. Our plans ensure you’re progressing safely and effectively.
  • Expert Coaching: Coaches Mary and Leslie bring a wealth of experience in triathlon training and will provide you with the tips and techniques to help you perform your best on race day.

Meet Your Triathlon Coaches!

Leslie Beahm

Leslie is a semi-retired electrical engineer who designed building power systems and lighting for building for her career. She is a mother of two adult children and has been married for over 30 years. She also enjoys singing with the Cherry Creek Chorale, hiking, skiing, and digital scrapbooking.

Leslie comes from a long line of couch potatoes and was following suit until her late 40s when a wild hair got her to sign up for a beginners triathlon group. When she started, she couldn’t even run 1/10 or swim a length of a pool without being winded. Since then, she’s grown to love the sport and the community surrounding it. She is also a coach for Altitude Multisport Club. Since starting her first triathlon and doing her first sprint in 2017, she has gone on to do multiple half Ironman distance races, one full Ironman, and has qualified for USA Triathlon Championships multiple years. She is looking forward to working with WAC!

Mary Carey

Mary loves to be active in the beautiful Colorado outdoors.  Running, cycling, hiking, camping – she always prefers to be outside!  She is a wife and mother with two teenage girls who play competitive soccer.  A life-long athlete with a background in competitive tennis, Mary loves sharing her passion for fitness with women.  She believes that with physical activity comes self confidence, community and improved mental health.

As an athlete, Mary has completed Ultra520K Canada, six Ironman races, 18 half Ironman races, many marathons and trail races up to 50 miles, and too many shorter triathlons and road races to count.  She has been coaching for 25 years and holds several coaching certifications.  She has a coaching business and is also a coach for Altitude Multisport Club and SwimLabs.  As someone who did not grow up swimming, Mary has spent decades studying the freestyle stroke so she can help adults learn to swim for triathlon.  She knows what it’s like to not come by swimming naturally and can help people overcome their fears and learn to love swimming.  Mary can’t wait to share her love of triathlon with WAC!
