Trail Running
You don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.
The Women’s Adventure Club specializes in team fitness, bringing together women who share a passion for adventure, community, and personal growth. With expert coaching and a supportive team, we help you reach your fitness goals—because you don’t have to hit the trails alone. Our trail running programs are open to women of all fitness levels. Whether you’re new to trail running or training for a race, we welcome you! Speed doesn’t matter—endurance and consistency do.
What We Offer
Each program has recommended guidelines to help you choose the right fit:
- 5K Program – Ideal for beginners or those returning to running. No experience necessary—just a willingness to start and keep going!
- 10K Program – You should be able to run or run/walk for 30 minutes at your own pace. We focus on endurance, not speed.
- Half Marathon Program – Best for those who have completed a 10K or can run/walk for 45-60 minutes.
We explore a variety of trails, from rolling dirt paths to more technical terrain, all within a reasonable distance from Parker, Colorado—every week is a new adventure! In Make sure you remember to bring your hydration! Since we’re out on the trails, carrying a water bottle isn’t ideal. We recommend a hydration pack to keep your hands free and your water easily accessible. Check out our gear shop for our favorite hydration systems! If you’re not sure which program is right for you, email us at training@womensadventureclub.org, and we’ll help you decide!

Meet Your Running Coaches!
Kaylene Macias is a trail runner and the Founder and CEO of the Women’s Adventure Club, where her mission is rooted in building strong women through connection, movement, and community. While she’s taken on some of Colorado’s most iconic endurance challenges—including completing the legendary Superman Incline Challenge—Kaylene believes the real power of trail running isn’t found in finish times or personal records.
For Kaylene, the trail is a place to heal, reset, and grow stronger from the inside out. She is passionate about creating inclusive, supportive spaces where women can show up exactly as they are, move their bodies to support their mental health, and experience the unique kind of strength that comes from doing hard things together. On her 10k Trail Running Team, the focus isn’t on speed—it’s on consistency, confidence, and the kind of “brain workouts” that help women feel clearer, calmer, and more capable in everyday life.
Gayle Hoffmeister is a lifelong distance runner, having run her first marathon at age 12 and continuing her passion today as she nears her seventh year as a streak runner…having run at least a mile every day for the last 7 years. An army veteran and consummate adventure seeker, Gayle is always chasing the next challenge….she’s completed marathons, Ironman’s, and adventure races around the world, summited Denali, and Kilimanjaro, climbed in the Andes, circumnavigated Mt Rainier, traversed the Grand Canyon from rim to rim to rim and raced fat bikes in the Arctic. Her latest challenge is finishing the Marathon Global Majors, a series of 6 marathons around the world which she plans to finish next spring with the last race of the series, the Tokyo Marathon. Driven by a deep passion for sport and adventure, Gayle is committed to inspiring women and sharing her knowledge and experience to empower women of all ages and abilities.
Anne is an experienced ultra runner with serious bragging rights—she conquered the formidable 2023 TransRockies Run, a multi-day mountain adventure that tests even the toughest athletes. A founding member of the Women’s Adventure Club, Anne is deeply passionate about creating a welcoming and empowering space for all women on the trails.
As a certified run coach through the United Endurance Sports Coaching Academy (UESCA), Anne is eager to share her knowledge and help others discover the joy of trail running. She believes that no matter your pace, you have a place on the trail—because Mother Nature doesn’t care how fast you go. Her mission is to ensure that every woman has a positive and fulfilling running experience, whether they’re training for an ultra, a 5k, or simply exploring the beauty of the trails around them.
When she’s not running, Anne loves spending summers adventuring across Colorado with her husband and three children, exploring the great outdoors and making unforgettable memories together.
