Hike at Lost Lake via Hessie Trail

Join us for one of Colorado’s classic alpine hikes as we make our way to the breathtaking Lost Lake via the Hessie Trail! This scenic adventure is the perfect day trip, leading us through lush forests, alongside rushing streams, and into the heart of the Indian Peaks Wilderness.

Our destination is the stunning Lost Lake, nestled beneath towering mountain peaks. It’s the perfect place to relax, enjoy lunch, and soak in the incredible alpine scenery. Keep your eyes peeled along the way—this trail is well known for frequent moose sightings, and if you look closely into the crystal-clear water, you may even spot Brook Trout swimming beneath the surface.

We’ll begin at the Hessie Trailhead near the charming mountain town of Eldora, following the Devil’s Thumb Trail before connecting to the Devil’s Thumb Bypass, which leads us to beautiful Lost Lake.
